It was back in 2009 that the ‘State of Seething’ began.

A chance encounter over a bar, a whiff of fine cheese and a glass of sparkling water and the first project began to see light. The Lamb Public House in the Brighton Road in Seething, Surbiton was the location for this tiny spark.

In a matter of moments the monthly Homage de Fromage Cheese Club was born aimed at celebrating great British Cheese and Cheese based art. True to those principles that have been at the core of the ‘State of Seething’ ever since this was a serious attempt to provide the opportunity for people to enjoy themselves and rediscover the fun that can be had when you get engaged with a silly creative project.

Since that first Homage de Fromage was held with a group of fifty the monthly evenings have gone from success to success. Now the Monday nights book out three months in advance. Check out the site to see how you can come along.

But from those earliest days something grew. An ever increasing group of people who wanted to bring more and more people into the magic. And so from the building of the Giant Mousetrap, through Surbiton Ski Sunday, onwards and up the Mount of Seething and Legend of Lefi Ganderson though to crossing the Channel with Le Voyage du Fromage the spirit has grown.

Lefi has taught us that we can all have the ‘State of Seething’ within us if we open up and join in the fun. Everyone is truly welcome.

Oh, and as a by-product of the madness we have raised just over £41,000 for local and international charities.
